Ed Harding is the principal anchor on WCVB-TV (Channel 5) in Boston, anchoring the 5, 6, and 11 PM editions of NewsCenter 5. He is a native of Newton, Massachusetts and lives in Wellesley with his wife and two children. He graduated from Emerson College in Boston in 1975.[1][2]

In the early 1970s, he was a reporter in Minnesota and Plattsburgh, New York and from 1978 to 1981, he worked at WDSU in New Orleans.

Before working in Boston, he worked at WISH-TV in Indianapolis and hosted programming on the Indianapolis Colts.

He has been at WCVB-TV since 1988, where he was a weekend sports anchor and Candlepin bowling host. He became the host of the Eyeopener in 2000, and took over the primetime newscasts in March 2007 alongside Natalie Jacobson, who retired July 18th, 2007.

In October 2009, he was appointed moderator with political reporter Janet Wu for the new WCVB-TV Sunday morning political program, On The Record.[3]
